tight supply in the south, steady in California.
In the south, long grain rice prices were steady, quoted mostly at 14.00-
14.75; medium grain prices were steady, quoted mostly at 20.00; parboiled rice
prices were steady, quoted mostly from 15.75-16.50; second heads were steady,
quoted mostly at 9.00-10.00; brewers were steady, quoted mostly at 8.50. Rice
by-products: Offers for rice bran were firm to 12.00 higher; millfeed was 4.00-
5.00 higher; hulls were steady to 1.00 higher. By-products are in tight supply.
In California, medium grain milled rice prices were steady, quoted mostly
from 23.00-23.50; short grain prices were steady; second heads mostly steady,
instances 1.00 higher; brewers were steady. Brokens remain in very tight supply.
Rice bran was steady; rice hulls were steady.
