Wheat: Net sales of 743,200 metric tons (MT)--a marketing-year high--were 31 percent above the previous week and 42 percent over the prior 4-week average. Major increases for Pakistan (234,000 MT--the first reported activity since the 1998/99 marketing year), Mexico (87,200 MT), Peru (84,900 MT), Nigeria (76,700 MT), Egypt (58,300 MT), and Japan (41,800 MT) were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (30,200 MT). In addition, sales and exports of 22,500 MT were reported for Sudan--the first activity since the 2000/01 marketing year. Exports of 446,100 MT were 29 percent below the previous week and 25 percent under the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Peru (64,400 MT), Egypt (58,300 MT), China (48,700 MT), South Korea (45,200 MT), the Philippines (44,700 MT), and Nigeria (44,700 MT). Note: Accumulated exports of 29,500 MT previously reported for Colombia has been switched to Israel.

Corn: Net sales of 230,500 MT were down 28 percent from the week earlier and 35 percent from the prior 4-week average. Major increases for Egypt (86,100 MT--all switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (77,200 MT), Taiwan (40,200 MT), Ecuador (29,300 MT), and Algeria (19,800 MT) were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (119,600 MT). Net sales of 487,100 MT for delivery in 2004/05 were primarily for Japan (178,700 MT), Taiwan (160,000 MT), Mexico (102,500 MT), and South Korea (55,000 MT--all switched from unknown destinations). Decreases of 40,000 MT were reported for unknown destinations. Exports of 1,046,400 MT were 29 percent above the previous week and 18 percent over the prior 4-week average. The principal destinations were Japan (279,000 MT), South Korea (227,200 MT), Mexico (110,900 MT), Egypt (107,600 MT), Canada (64,200 MT), and Taiwan (36,300 MT). Note: Accumulated exports for Japan were adjusted downward by 45,100 MT.
