US Wheat inspection report
CBOT, May 4, 2004
Our weekly export inspection report showed 26.6 m.b. were inspect for near term export down from 29.5 the week prior but over a year ago of 18.6. Year todate inspection are 1.043 b.b. versus 776 m.b. a year ago. It's a supportive demand figure. Wheat's strength today came as weekend rains in the hard red winter wheat states failed to love up to its billing and this week looks hot and dry. WXRISK.COM. sees 80 to 90 degrees in Texas to the Dakotas Wed. to Sat. There's a chance for light rains late in the weekend but more in our northern spring wheat states where planting continues Next week looks wetter and cooler. Support on July lies at 3.90 then 3.80. 3.90 should at least until Wed. If the weather gurus see big rains on the way for certain next week we could expect pressure on prices Thursday and Friday. Demand isn't strong enough to carry the market so, weather remains our supportive source. May is the key yield month for our winter crop with our spring wheat looking to June 15 to July 15 as key period for weather. If your long put stops under support or buy the June 3.90 put for 8 cents protection.
