Wheat - inspection report
CBOT, March 22, 2004
Wheat started out today with its weekly export inspection report showing 15.2 m.b. were inspected for near term export down from 26.9 the week prior but over a year ago of 12.2. We need to be over 20 m.b. to be friendly from a demand view point. Today's strength came on two fronts. One, the United Nations will except bids on 627 t.t. of wheat for shipment to Iraq. The trade believes the U.S. is poised to get the lions share of that bu8isness. We should hear something by Wed. or Thursday. Two, as or wint4er wheat is breaking dormancy this week looks to be as warm and dry as last week. Tonight state by state crop rains will come out with expectations for lower ratings. Though. The near term weather is bullish, WXRISK.COM sees the first week of April as being wet. We will have a better look at next weeks weather by Wed. Support on July lies at 4.10 and may at 4.06. To break the use levels we need a rain forecast. Note, March is our least important growing month. April is important with May as critical. The problem now is tha6t crop ratings are so poor we need near perfect weather to catch up to proffered ratings and were not getting it.
