CBOT - Wheat weekly updated report
Wheat futures ended mostly higher Monday, sustaining a supportive tone on follow through technical buying from recent advances. The markets managed to hold firm despite a lack of fresh demand related news, garnering strength from export prospects following outlooks for lower foreign production, traders said.

Wheat futures ended mostly lower Tuesday, retracing previous advances amid the absence of fresh demand-related news. Speculation that the lofty price gains of late had tempered export interest, led to the day's losses, with the inability of futures to attract significant buying after breaching recent highs on Monday triggered technically inspired selling as well.

Wheat finished Wednesday's session on solid footing, propelling on strong demand and technical foundations. Speculative commodity funds were staunch buyers of wheat on the day, as near term demand prospects continue to provide market bulls with the stimulus needed to keep upside momentum flowing, analysts said.

Wheat futures slipped lower Thursday, reversing earlier gains that produced new contract highs. Solid underlying fundamentals served as the catalyst for market technicians to spike prices to new heights early on. However, once the lofty gains were achieved and near term technical objectives were met, the market had a hard time finding willing buyers, subsequently triggering profit taking pressure.

Wheat futures finished to downside Friday, making a sizable correction from recent highs in continuation of Thursday's late reversal.

CBOT Mar wheat ended at $4.03 1/4, down 3 1/2c from the Nov. 28 close of $4.06 3/4 a bushel.
