CBOT - Wheat weekly updated report
Wheat futures ended Monday on weaker footing, retracing a portion of Friday's impressive gains amid the absence of any fresh fundamental news to keep buyers enthused. The markets lacked the follow-through momentum to sustain the upward tone, as quiet export markets and positioning ahead of the Thanksgiving Day holiday curtailed the bullish exuberance that lifted markets higher out of the starting blocks.

Wheat futures ended Tuesday's session posting strong gains, managing to recover from early weakness on technically motivated buying interest. Futures initially slipped lower on follow-through selling from Monday's declines, but when futures breach of support at Monday's lows failed to produce additional selling pressure, buyers began to gain confidence to send prices rebounding higher.

Wheat ended Wednesday's abbreviated trading session mixed as pre-holiday position squaring promoted two-sided activity. Futures propelled higher to start the session, with follow-through buying from Tuesday's firm close generating strength. However, the inability of the markets to extend the gains beyond recent highs sent negative waves rippling through nearby futures.

Wheat ended the abbreviated holiday trading session on solid footing Friday, advancing higher on technically inspired buying and supportive demand outlooks.

CBOT Mar wheat ended at $4.06 3/4, up 10 1/2c from the Nov. 21 close of $3.96 1/4 a bushel.
