Russian weekly grain market report
MOSCOW The situation on Russian grain markets in the week to July 9 was little changed from the previous week, traders said.
Old harvest grain prices were stable, while those of the new harvest continued to strengthen, they said.
New harvest feed wheat and feed barley prices rose by 150-300 roubles per tonne as torrential rains had slowed the pace of this year's harvesting campaign and delayed shipments of grain to the market.
Demand for feed grain was high as traders attempted to fulfil earlier signed export contracts.
Traders said the rise would continue unless rains stop next week.
Producers in the North Caucasus offered new harvest third class food wheat at the lowest price of 3,000-3,100 roubles per tonne EXW, and fourth class wheat at 2,500-2,600 roubles. Most producers expect higher prices.
Food rye prices were stabilising after a period of growth, most likely on expectations of the new harvest.
Wheat flour prices were unchanged and traders said they expected them to stay stable in coming weeks.
Sunoil prices continued to strengthen due to limited supply. Traders said high domestic prices could stimulate imports of not only of sunoil but also of more cheap soyaoil
